Terms of Service
Last updated: June 30, 2026 · Steadycase is a product line of AlbusWorks LLC, a Maryland limited liability company (“AlbusWorks,” “we,” “us”).
1. What these terms cover
These terms govern your purchase and use of Steadycase digital products — trial notebooks, Steadycase Compass state editions, free downloads, and related materials (the “Products”) — and your use of this website. By purchasing, downloading, or using a Product, or by checking any terms-acceptance box presented at checkout, you accept these terms.
2. Legal information, not legal advice
The Products are general legal information and self-help organizational tools. They are not legal advice, and they are not a substitute for the advice of a lawyer licensed in your state who has reviewed the facts of your case.
- AlbusWorks LLC is not a law firm and does not provide legal services.
- The Products help you organize your own facts and documents and point you to official sources of law. They do not, and cannot, apply the law to your individual situation.
- Purchasing or using a Product does not create an attorney–client relationship between you and AlbusWorks, Steadycase, or any attorney involved in creating the Products.
- Purchasing or using a Product does not include legal review, consultation, representation, or access to David Martino or any other attorney involved in creating the Products.
- Nothing in the Products is a promise, prediction, or assessment of the outcome of your case.
3. Verify against official sources; dated snapshots
Statutes, court rules, forms, fees, and child support guidelines change. Each Product reflects information available as of the date stated in that Product. You are responsible for verifying every rule, deadline, form, and requirement against your court’s current official sources before relying on it. We have no obligation to update Products you have already purchased, and we do not provide change notifications.
4. If you need legal advice
Many people can get free or low-cost legal help. Consider your state judiciary’s self-help center, your local legal aid office (find one through LawHelp.org or LSC.gov), or your state or county bar association’s lawyer referral service. We encourage you to consult a licensed attorney whenever you can. If you are in immediate danger, contact emergency services or a domestic-violence hotline in your area.
5. Purchases, delivery, and refunds
Checkout, payment processing, sales tax/VAT, and file delivery are handled by our merchant of record, Lemon Squeezy, LLC. Your payment data is processed by Lemon Squeezy, not by us. Products are digital downloads delivered after purchase. Because Products are digital goods delivered immediately, all sales are final except where a refund is required by law or granted at our discretion — contact us if a delivery fails or you bought the wrong state edition; we will make it right.
6. License
Your purchase grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Product for your own case (or the case of one member of your household). You may print and copy the materials for that purpose. You may not resell, redistribute, publish, share, or use the Products to provide services to others. All copyrights and trademarks in the Products remain ours.
7. System requirements
Trial Notebook workbooks are delivered as XLSX files for Microsoft Excel, together with PDF guides. If a Google Sheets edition or copy-link option is provided for a Product, it requires a Google account and a compatible, current browser with cookies and JavaScript enabled. You are responsible for having access to compatible software, a working device, and internet access where needed. PDF guides and Compass editions require software or a browser that can open PDF files. We do not guarantee compatibility with outdated operating systems, unsupported browsers, legacy spreadsheet programs, or unusual hardware.
8. No warranties (“as is”)
THE PRODUCTS AND THIS WEBSITE ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE INFORMATION IN ANY PRODUCT IS CURRENT, COMPLETE, OR ERROR-FREE, OR THAT USING A PRODUCT WILL PRODUCE ANY PARTICULAR RESULT IN YOUR CASE.
9. Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY OF ALBUSWORKS LLC, ITS MEMBERS, AND THE AUTHORS OF THE PRODUCTS, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE PRODUCTS OR THIS WEBSITE, IS CAPPED AT THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE PRODUCT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM. WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR THE OUTCOME OF ANY LEGAL PROCEEDING. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those jurisdictions our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless AlbusWorks LLC and its members from claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from your misuse of the Products, your violation of these terms, or your redistribution of the Products to third parties.
11. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maryland, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Maryland, and you consent to their jurisdiction.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time; the version posted at the time of your purchase governs that purchase. We will post the “last updated” date above.
